July 27th through August 6th, 2018

Residency in Scotland, Edinburgh Arts Festival Exhibition

This unique opportunity is a 10-day residency plus Master Class with Artist/Gallerist/Educator Michael David, during the largest and foremost annual arts festival in the world, the Edinburgh International/Fringe Festival.

As part of the greater Edinburgh International/Fringe Festival, Edinburgh Art Festival is the UK’s largest annual festival of visual art. It brings together the capital’s leading galleries, museums and artist-run spaces, alongside new public art commissions by established and emerging artists and an innovative programme of special events.

This residency and master class will provide you with living quarters and a studio in which to work (at Edinburgh’s hip arts/event space The Biscuit Factory), culminating in an exhibition of your work in an officially sanctioned Edinburgh Art Festival event. The program will be limited to only ten participants who will be selected through a portfolio submission process.

Michael David will work with you via Skype or phone for two one-hour meetings prior to your arrival to prepare you for your time at the residency – to help you set and achieve goals for your work.

The goal of this hybrid master class/residency is to provide you with one-on-one mentoring with Michael David, and the time to focus on your work away from the distractions of your day-to-day life. You will feed off the shared energy of like-minded artists as you take your work to new levels and prepare for exhibition opportunities – all the while taking inspiration from the electric energy of the myriad daily arts events the Festival, and indeed the entire beautiful and vibrant city of Edinburgh has to offer.
